Help Fight HIV

Privacy Policy

Bridge HIV at the San Francisco Department of Public Health (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates HelpFightHIV.org (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we gather when you visit our website, as well as some of the steps we take to safeguard it.

Information Collection
We do not collect personal information about you when you visit our website unless you choose to provide that information to us.
If you choose to share information with us via the Contact Form, we will ask for your first and last name, email address, and phone number. This information will be emailed to us and saved in a secure, offline database. The database also sends us your IP address. The database is located on a secure Amazon Web Services (AWS) server. You can ask to review, change, edit or update the information submitted to us by contacting us at (628) 217-7400 or bridgehiv@sfdph.org.

Log Data
We collect limited information your browser makes available automatically whenever you visit any website (“Log Data”). This information includes the Internet address of your computer or network, the date, time, and page you visited on our Site, your browser and operating system, and the referring page (the last webpage you visited before clicking on a link to our Site). We use the aggregated information from all of our visitors to measure server performance, analyze user traffic patterns and improve the content of our Site. We sometimes track the keywords that are entered into our search engine to measure interest in specific topics, but we do not track which terms a particular user enters.
In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this type of information to improve the Site and our services. These third party service providers have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.

Use of Google Analytics and Other Tracking
Our Service uses Google Analytics, a service which transmits website traffic data to Google to help us track engagement, traffic, errors, and webpage usage. Google Analytics does not identify individual users or associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

We may use other third-party vendors’ reporting tools, such as Twitter, Facebook, and other Social Media Platforms to compile aggregate data regarding certain measures of our service.

To find out more about how Google may use information collected by our website, please visit https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

If you would like to opt-out from having your data used by Google Analytics at this and other sites, you can install a Browser Add-On here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Information Sharing
If you choose to share information with us via this website, we will not give, share, sell, rent or transfer any personally identifiable information to a third party.

Do Not Track
California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals. There currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals. Because we use third-party services like Google Analytics, we are unable respond to DNT signals at this time.

Links
Bridge HIV and HelpFightHIV.org uses link and search capabilities to navigate publicly available information from agencies that are not part of Bridge HIV and the HelpFightHIV.org website and over which Bridge HIV exercises no control.

The privacy policies and procedures described here do not necessarily apply to those sites. We suggest contacting these sites directly for information on their data collection and distribution policies.

Changes to the Privacy Policy
We will periodically review this policy to make sure it is up-to-date. If any changes are made to this policy, we will post a notification on this page of any changes.
